The Great Britain Postal Strike lasted 7 weeks – January 20 to March 7, 1971. There were more than 450 entities that carried out various Postal Services. Some were licensed by the British Postal Service, some were Pirate Services. Basically there were 2 types of services – Public Mail  for Out of the Country and Inland Mail. In addition Special Courier Services existed. More detailed information can be obatined from catalogs such as; Clive Smith, Rosen and The Private Post.
